Conduct of Students

The following rules and regulations of the Institute shall be strictly observed:

  1. Every student must strictly adhere to the rules and regulations of the Institute. Students should be neatly dressed at all times.
  2. Students must maintain up-to-date Tuition Notes and Practical Work Records. These will be checked by the instructor every month. Students must also possess a complete set of relevant AME textbooks and their own tool kits.
  3. Once the syllabus is completed as per the lesson plan, students must submit their Tuition Notes and Workshop Records to the Training Manager (T.M.) for scrutiny.
  4. Latecomers must report to the Training Manager before entering the class. In the absence of the T.M., the Batch In-Charge will handle such cases and inform the Training Manager. No student is allowed to leave the class or workshop without the permission of the Instructor or Workshop Superintendent.
  5. All leave applications must be addressed to the Training Manager, who is the sanctioning authority. Students who remain absent for more than a week without leave must obtain permission from the Training Manager before resuming classes. A minimum of 90% attendance is mandatory to be eligible for the semester examination. Students failing to meet this requirement will be debarred from the examination.

Attendance Requirement

To be eligible to appear in any examination, a student/trainee must have a minimum of 90% attendance during the training period.

Uniforms

For Workshop:

To be eligible for appearing in any Examination a Student/Trainee should have been present for at least 90% of the Training Period.

  1. Grey overalls
  2. Leather or rubber-soled shoes
  3. A pair of black shoes

For Classroom:

  1. Oxford deep blue trousers with a black leather belt and Oxford blue blazer
  2. White shirt with one front pocket featuring a monogram, shoulder flaps, and a blue tie
  3. A pair of black shoes

Library & Lab Rules

General Rules:

  1. Identity Card is mandatory for accessing the library.
  2. Silence must be maintained at all times.
  3. Discussions are not permitted inside the library.
  4. No personal belongings are allowed inside the library.
  5. Textbooks, printed materials, and issued books are not allowed inside the library.
  6. Mobile phones and audio devices (with or without headphones) are strictly prohibited in the library premises.
  7. Students must sign in at the register kept at the entrance before entering the library.
  8. All books and materials taken out of the library must be shown to the staff at the entrance.
  9. The librarian reserves the right to recall any issued book at any time.
  10. Library borrower cards are non-transferable. Borrowers are responsible for the books issued on their cards.
  11. No refreshments are allowed in the library.
  12. Working Hours:

    - Monday to Friday: 9:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. (till 5:00 p.m. during examinations)

    - Saturday: 9:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

  13. No photography of the library is allowed without the prior permission of the librarian.

Circulation Issue System:

  • Books will be issued upon presentation of a library card and ID card. Students must check the condition of books before borrowing them. Any damage noticed at the time of return will be the borrower's responsibility.

Overdue Charges:

  • Books must be returned on or before the due date. Late returns will incur a fine.

Book Loss:

  • Lost books must be replaced with the same or latest edition. If not, double the cost of the book must be paid with the librarian's approval.

No Dues Certificate:

  • A "No Dues" certificate must be obtained after returning all issued books, surrendering borrower cards, and clearing any dues.

Care of Library Books:

  • Books must be handled with care. Writing, underlining, tearing, or damaging in any form is prohibited. Any issues must be reported at the time of issuance.

Book Renewal:

  • Books may be renewed if not requested by another user.

Lab Rules

  • Report all accidents, injuries, or equipment breakage to the instructor immediately.
  • Clean your work station before leaving.
  • Learn the locations of the fire extinguisher, eye wash station, first aid kit, and safety shower.
  • Follow all teacher instructions.
  • Transport materials and equipment safely.
  • Eating and drinking are strictly prohibited in the lab.

Ragging

Ragging is strictly prohibited inside and outside the Institute premises. Any violation will lead to serious disciplinary action.

  • Preventing, disrupting, or disturbing another student’s academic activities is prohibited.
  • Exploiting a fresher for any form of academic or personal task is punishable.
  • If found guilty, students involved in ragging will face strict disciplinary action including police involvement as per the Anti-Ragging Act of the Government of India.

Hostel Rules and Regulations

  1. Day scholars, male/female visitors, and guests are not allowed in the hostel without prior permission from the Warden/Hostel In-Charge. Violators will be expelled immediately.
  2. Students are not allowed to stay in their rooms between 8:45 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. on working days without written permission.
  3. Visitors must enter their details in the register at the security gate. They may meet students only at the Institute’s main reception.
  4. Tape recorders with speakers are not permitted. Only personal music players (Walkman) are allowed.
  5. Hostel inmates are not permitted to own or use two-wheelers.
  6. Students must make entry in the "In and Out Register" at the main gate.
  7. Posters, pictures, and writing on hostel walls are strictly prohibited.
  8. Students must not damage hostel property. Maintenance staff should be informed for repairs.
  9. Overnight stays outside the hostel require prior written permission.
  10. Students must not go out during working days without permission. On holidays, outings are permitted between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
  11. Costly electronics, jewelry, or cash should not be kept in the hostel. The Institute is not responsible for loss or theft.
  12. Rooms must be vacated during vacations. Permission for stay may be granted only with written request.
  13. Ragging, harassment, misbehavior, and quarrels are strictly prohibited. Police action will be initiated against offenders.
  14. Alcohol and smoking are strictly prohibited. Violators will be expelled immediately.
  15. Students must leave the hostel by 8:30 a.m. on working days and attend classes punctually.
  16. Dress codes must be followed in all hostel areas.
  17. Meals are served on holidays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Dining area must be kept clean.
  18. Meals should be taken within prescribed hours. Latecomers will not be served.
  19. Room changes are allowed only with permission.
  20. The Hostel In-Charge may shift students without explanation.
  21. All students must maintain high standards of behavior.
  22. Prior permission is required for absence from class or going home.
  23. Electrical appliances like heaters, ACs, and TVs are not allowed.
  24. Cooking in rooms is strictly prohibited.
  25. Students must not stay in rooms during study hours; violations will be fined.
  26. Students are responsible for any damage to room property.
  27. In-Out register entries are mandatory.
  28. Hostel in-time is 7:30 p.m.
  29. Study hours are from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. (Compulsory).
  30. Dinner timing is from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
  31. Roll call is at 9:30 p.m. All students must be present in the hostel.
  32. Acts of indiscipline may result in suspension or expulsion.
  33. The decision of the Hostel In-Charge is final and binding.
  34. Students must not engage in anti-national, anti-social, or undesirable activities.
  35. Electrical appliances must be turned off and rooms locked when leaving. Violations will be penalized.
  36. No functions or meetings may be held without permission.
  37. Students are responsible for safeguarding their belongings.
  38. Off-campus issues are the responsibility of students but may result in disciplinary action.
  39. Non-hostellers are not permitted in hostel premises without permission.
